Milan, 24 September (LaPresse) – Alessia Pifferi ‘is perfectly capable of understanding and willing. She does not act driven by uncontrollable psychic forces, but makes choices, organises them, carries them out, maintaining awareness of the context and consequences’. This is what emerges from the technical advice of the civil party's experts, Dr Roberta Bruzzone and Dr Alberto Caputo. ‘Alessia Pifferi's profile,’ the advice continues, ‘conveys the image of a fragile but perfectly lucid mind, capable of navigating cognitive contradictions without ever losing touch with reality.’ The tests carried out on the 40-year-old, already sentenced to life imprisonment in the first instance for abandoning her 18-month-old daughter at home for six days, causing her death, showed “deliberately abnormal and inconsistent responses, with very high scores for simulation”. Bruzzone and Caputo finally emphasise that “there are no signs of an inability to distinguish between right and wrong, nor of a loss of contact with reality”.
