Rome, Sept. 23 (LaPresse) – "Strong thunderstorms are expected in Veneto starting late this morning, particularly in the Pedemontana area and the central-eastern plains/coast. I am closely monitoring the situation, in close contact with the regional Civil Protection, which opened the Operational Room at 9 AM today," announced President Luca Zaia. This comes in light of a bulletin issued by the Veneto Civil Protection's Decentralized Functional Centre, which has declared an orange and yellow alert for today and tomorrow across all Veneto basins, due to thunderstorms and hydrogeological risk caused by rainfall. "I urge the people of Veneto to remain vigilant and limit travel to essential needs, both today and tomorrow, until the most intense weather conditions subside," Zaia concluded.
