Rome: patient abuse, Richeldi settles for 11 months and 10 days

Rome, 15 September. (LaPresse) – Eleven months and ten days, with a three-month suspension from the medical profession, a one-year ban from contracting with the public administration and a perpetual ban from carrying out curatorship. It is the sentence agreed with the court of Rome by Professor Luca Richeldi, the head of the Complex Operational Unit of Pneumology and of the CEMAR of the Agostino Gemelli University Hospital, accused of sexual assault on a patient. The plea agreement was granted by the first criminal section of the Rome court, which also indicated a recovery path in a recovery facility for abusers. At the end of the recovery program the sentence will be declared suspended.
