Milan, 14 September (LaPresse) – Ovation in St Peter's Square for Pope Leo XIV on his birthday. Many faithful displayed signs and banners with birthday wishes for the Pontiff, who turns 70 today. At the end of the Angelus, Prevost, smiling and almost moved, thanked the pilgrims: ‘Dear friends, it seems you know: today I turn 70. Many thanks to all!’ The square then erupted in loud applause and chants of “Happy Birthday!”, while bands began to play among the white and yellow balloons waved by some of those present.
