Milan, 31 August (LaPresse) – ‘It is time for those responsible to renounce the logic of weapons and embark on the path of negotiations and peace, with the support of the international community.’ Pope Leo XIV said this at the end of the Angelus in St. Peter's Square, renewing his call for ‘an immediate ceasefire.’ ‘The voice of weapons must be silenced and that of brotherhood and justice must be raised,’ continued the Pontiff, who recalled: ‘The war in Ukraine continues to sow death and destruction.’ ‘Our prayers are for the victims of the shooting’ in Minneapolis, ‘especially the children,’ ‘may the pandemic of weapons, large and small, that infect our world come to an end,’ Prevost added.
