Milan, 14 August (LaPresse) – The minors responsible for the death of 71-year-old Cecilia De Astis, placed today by local police in a “safe place”, have been removed from their families because they were “morally and materially” abandoned and exposed “in the family environment to serious harm and danger” to their “psychological and physical safety”. This is what the law provides for in the measure taken in agreement with the Milan Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, headed by Luca Villa, against the three children identified last night in Piedmont while the fourth, who was in the Citroen that ran over and killed the woman in Gratosoglio, is still being sought. Within 24 hours, a report will be sent to the public prosecutor for minors who, in theory, within the following three days, also through investigations and the collection of witness statements, may request the revocation of the placement, validation by the Juvenile Court and, in the same appeal, the “termination of parental responsibility” for violation of “duties”. The judge will decide on the validation within the next 48 hours and appoint a special guardian, setting a hearing within 15 days. It is on that occasion that the children will be heard, if necessary.
