Bolzano, 5 August (LaPresse) – An accident occurred in the mountains in the early afternoon today in the area of Piz da Lech, above Colfosco in South Tyrol. A 25-year-old Chinese tourist lost his life while paragliding. The young man jumped from Piz da Lech but failed to land correctly. The alarm was raised by a friend who was with him and did not see him return after the flight. The Alta Badia Mountain Rescue team was immediately called to the scene. The body was located in an inaccessible area and recovered thanks to the intervention of the Aiut Alpin Dolomites helicopter rescue service, which lowered a 110-metre fixed rope to allow technicians to reach the body. After the magistrate gave the go-ahead at the request of the Guardia di Finanza, the body was airlifted to Colfosco.
