Milan, 4 August (LaPresse) – ‘Deeply saddened by the devastating loss of life caused by the shipwreck off the coast of Yemen,’ Pope Leo XIV ‘entrusts the many migrants who lost their lives to the loving mercy of Almighty God.’ This is what we read in the telegram sent by the Pontiff – signed by Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin – regarding the shipwreck off the coast of Yemen. For the survivors, emergency personnel and ‘all those affected by this tragedy,’ the Pope invokes ‘divine strength, comfort and hope.’
