Rome, 3 August (LaPresse) – ‘The fullness of our existence does not depend on what we accumulate or, as we heard in the Gospel, on what we possess. Rather, it is linked to what we joyfully welcome and share.’ Pope Leo XIV said this during his homily at the Mass for the Youth Jubilee in Tor Vergata. ‘Buying, hoarding, consuming is not enough,’ added the Pontiff. We need to raise our eyes, to look up, to the things above, to realise that everything in the world has meaning only insofar as it serves to unite us to God and to our brothers and sisters in charity, making feelings of tenderness, goodness, humility, meekness, magnanimity, forgiveness and peace grow within us." ‘And in this horizon, we will understand ever more deeply what it means that “hope does not disappoint,”’ Prevost continued.
