Milan, 30 July (LaPresse) – The president of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca, signed an urgent order today to prevent the spread of the West Nile virus. The order requires municipalities in the region with active viral circulation to carry out, urgently and without delay, extraordinary measures for vector control, with particular regard to adulticide and larvicide disinfestation activities, as indicated by the local health authorities with territorial jurisdiction, in collaboration with the Lazio and Tuscany Zooprophylactic Institute, which will verify the activities and measures for the purposes of disbursing the contribution. The financing of these measures will be guaranteed by extraordinary economic resources allocated by the Lazio Region through a specific resolution of the Regional Council.
