Rome, July 20 (LaPresse) – “Let us make these summer days an opportunity to take care of one another, let us do it with courage. In this way, through solidarity and sharing of faith and life, we will promote a culture of peace, helping those around us to overcome fractures and hostilities and to build communion: among people, among peoples, among religions.” This was said by Pope Leo XIV in his homily delivered at the Cathedral of Albano. “Certainly, all this requires effort – he added – both service and listening are not always easy: they demand commitment and the ability to sacrifice. For example, faithfulness and love with which a father and mother lead their family require effort, as does the commitment with which children respond to their efforts at home and at school; it takes effort to understand one another when there are different opinions, to forgive when one errs, to assist when someone is ill, to support when someone is sad. But it is only in this way, with these efforts, that something good is built in life; it is only this way that authentic and strong relationships are born and grow among people, and that from below, from everyday life, the kingdom of God grows, spreads, and is experienced in the present.”
