Rome, 20 July (LaPresse) – The Freedom Flotilla boat Handala has left Gallipoli to try to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza, a few weeks after the mission of the boat “Madleen”, in which Greta Thunberg also took part. French MEP Emma Fourreau of the Left group, aboard the Handala, told Al Jazeera that ‘the European Parliament is complicit in the siege and genocide of Gaza. We must reach Gaza. Netanyahu and his government are responsible for the suffering in the Gaza Strip.’ French MP Gabrielle Cathala stressed that ‘Gaza has been under siege since 2007. Ships trying to break the blockade on Gaza will continue their work as long as the blockade is imposed. We are transporting food aid to the Gaza Strip. If the Handala is intercepted, it will be Israel that is violating the law.’
