Rome, July 17 (LaPresse) – Samuele Privitera, the young cyclist who crashed today during the first stage of the Giro della Valle d’Aosta in the municipality of Pontey, has died. He was promptly assisted by the medical team following the race and transported to the Parini Hospital in Aosta, where he sadly passed away. The dynamics of the accident are still unclear and are being investigated by public safety authorities. In light of what happened, the race’s organizing committee has decided to cancel tomorrow’s scheduled second stage.
