Milan, July 15 (LaPresse) – Dogs of all sizes can travel for free on Trenitalia’s Frecciarossa, Frecciargento, Frecciabianca, Intercity, and Intercity Notte trains until September 15, 2025. The ‘Free Dogs’ promotion makes it easier to travel with pets on medium- and long-distance routes. Larger dogs can travel outside of a carrier as long as they are leashed and muzzled. To book, simply select the "Travel with your dog" option during ticket purchase via any Trenitalia sales channel. Small pets in carriers (max. 70x30x50 cm) always travel for free. On regional trains, large dogs (except assistance dogs) require a discounted second-class ticket. Owners must carry the dog’s health certificate and registration documents—or a passport for foreign travelers. Assistance dogs travel free on all trains, including restaurant cars, FrecciaLink services, and replacement buses, with proper training certification if requested, except for guide dogs for visually impaired passengers.
