Rome, July 15 (LaPresse) – The Guardia di Finanza of Torre Annunziata (Naples) is currently executing 16 precautionary measures (both in prison and under house arrest), issued by the investigating judge at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, against the former mayor of Sorrento, Massimo Coppola, as well as municipal officials and local entrepreneurs.
The charges include corruption, embezzlement, and bid rigging, related to several public contracts awarded by the Municipality of Sorrento between 2022 and 2024.
The operation follows the arrest of the mayor on May 21, 2025, after he was caught receiving a bribe from a businessman.
