Naples, 10 July (LaPresse) – "Is preliminary questioning creating problems? In several investigations, yes. Many mafia members, when the case was not dismissed, knew they were under investigation or being wiretapped because they were questioned for drug possession. This has already happened in several investigations here in Naples. It has more than complicated matters." This was stated by Naples prosecutor Nicola Gratteri, responding to a question about preliminary questioning on the sidelines of a press conference at the Public Prosecutor's Office on the operation that led to the execution of 25 precautionary measures against as many members of the Mazzarella Camorra clan. ‘We have the right and the duty to criticise, to challenge and not to become accustomed to things that we believe are not useful to justice,’ added Gratteri.
