Milan, 8 Jul. (LaPresse) – Rider to work in extreme climatic conditions for the 'heat risk'. It is what emerged from the extraordinary controls of the National Labour Inspectorate and the Carabinieri Command for Labor Protection on compliance with safety legislation in workplaces with particular reference to the heat exposure of workers employed as "rider" in the food delivery sector. The inspection activity took place on 4 July, under the directives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, also following the signature between the social partners of the "Framework Protocol for the adoption of measures to reduce the occupational risks related to climatic emergencies in the workplace". In the cities of Milan, Bologna, Florence and Rome, where temperatures ranged between 34 and 38 degrees, in particular, 105 riders from different operators in the sector were checked. " All workers have been found to be in a situation of potential exposure" to heat risk, "which is why investigations are underway to verify the prevention and protection measures taken by employers to mitigate this risk, in accordance with the provisions of D.Lgs. 81/2008, regional or municipal ordinances", it is read in a joint note of the Weapon and the Inspectorate.
