Rome: gas depot explodes in Prenestino, several injured

Rome, 4 July (LaPresse) – An explosion has hit a gas depot in Via dei Gordiani in the Prenestino area of Rome. Several people are reported to have been injured, according to LaPresse. Several cars are reported to have caught fire. The depot and LPG filling station where the explosion occurred are located next to a school. Among those injured in the explosion of a gas depot in Prenestino are three police officers who arrived on the scene a few minutes after the blast, which was clearly heard throughout the south-east of the city and as far as the centre. The injured police officers were taken to the Vannini emergency room and the Umberto I polyclinic. Next to the site of the explosion is a nursery school, now a summer camp for children, and an ambulance depot.
