Rome, July 1 (LaPresse) – Francis Kaufmann, the 34-year-old American accused of the double murder at Villa Pamphili, will arrive in Italy next week, likely on a military flight. The extradition was approved last week by Greek judges in Larissa, where Kaufmann was arrested after fleeing across the border in an attempt to evade capture.
Kaufmann chose not to oppose the extradition and waived his right to appeal. He is considered responsible for the deaths of Anastasia Trofimova and her 11-month-old daughter Andromeda, who were found dead about 200 meters apart at Villa Pamphili in Rome.
Upon his return to Italy, Kaufmann will be served with a custody order already signed by the Rome Prosecutor’s Office. The preliminary investigations judge at the Rome court will have five days to schedule a guarantee hearing.
