Milan, June 30. (LaPresse) – In view of the prolonged heatwave affecting Lombardy, which is expected to continue over the next few days, the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, is about to sign an urgent order aimed at protecting the health and safety of workers exposed to high temperatures. The decision was taken after a meeting with trade unions and employers, convened today by the Welfare Councillor, Guido Bertolaso. The order, which will come into force at 00:01 on Wednesday, July 2, and remain in force until September 15, 2025, prohibits outdoor work between 12:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. in construction sites, quarries, farms, and nurseries, limited to days when the daily map published on the website www.worklimate.it/scelta-mappa/sole-attivita-fisica-alta/ referring to: ‘workers exposed to the sun’ with ‘intense physical activity’ at 12:00 p.m., indicates a ‘HIGH’ risk level and more specifically on the website app.worklimate.it/ordinanza-Caldo-lavoro.
