Rome: explosion in Ostia during the night, damage to commercial premises

Rome, 26 June (LaPresse) – An explosion occurred last night at around 3 a.m. in Via delle Azzorre in Ostia. No one was injured, but damage was reported to a business, several parked vehicles and the facade of the building. Firefighters, police bomb squads, emergency services and Rome police were called to the scene. Actor and comedian Enzo Salvi documented the explosion in two posts on his Instagram account. ‘We wake up to “bombs” in Ostia,’ Salvi wrote. ‘Cars gutted. All the windows of the building blown out. People terrified.’ The images show the damaged shop shutter with the words “Di Napoli” clearly visible and the devastation in the street following the explosion.
