Rome, June 24 (LaPresse) – They had been sleeping together outdoors in Villa Pamphili for at least two weeks. Anastasia Trofimova, her daughter Andromeda, and Francis Kaufmann—also known as Rexal Ford, the Californian now accused of double murder—had been sharing the same sleeping spot in the open air for days.

This is what investigators, coordinated by Deputy Prosecutor Giuseppe Cascini, have determined by analyzing phone records and geolocation data from Kaufmann’s mobile device. According to the reconstruction, the three would leave the park each morning to go to the San Silverio market area, where they would wash and have breakfast. This routine abruptly stopped between June 3 and 4, when Kaufmann’s phone ceased to transmit signals from the local cell tower.

Investigators believe this is the timeframe in which Anastasia was killed. Both murders are thought to have occurred inside the Roman park. The child, Andromeda, was strangled, while suffocation is one possible cause of death being considered for Anastasia. However, ongoing histological tests will be needed to confirm the exact cause of the woman’s death.

In the meantime, Francis Kaufmann is being held in Larissa prison in Greece, as authorities await the decision of the Greek Court of Appeal on his extradition to Italy, where he faces charges of aggravated double homicide.
