Rome, June 21 (LaPresse) – The search continues relentlessly for the apartment where the mother and daughter found dead in Villa Pamphili are believed to have lived with the suspected killer after arriving in Rome from Malta. Investigators suspect the residence was not officially registered and that the owner, fearing penalties or accusations of aiding and abetting, chose to remain silent. Meanwhile, troubling details have emerged about Francis Kaufmann’s past. His criminal record shows five arrests for assault and domestic violence, as well as a 120-day sentence for assault with a weapon classified in the U.S. as “lethal.” Investigators will also question Anastasia’s mother, to whom the young woman had written on June 2, saying she often had frequent arguments with Kaufmann. The woman is reportedly considering becoming a civil party in the trial, to seek compensation not only from the defendant but also from any potential civilly liable parties.
