Vatican City, June 21 (LaPresse) – "To promote and protect, beyond any particular interest, the good of the community, especially by defending the most vulnerable and marginalized." This was the appeal of Pope Leo XIV during an audience with government leaders visiting the Vatican for the Jubilee.

"For example," said Prevost, "we must work to overcome the unacceptable disparity between the wealth held by a few and the widespread poverty affecting so many. Those living in extreme conditions cry out to make their voices heard, but often find no ears willing to listen. Such imbalance generates a state of permanent injustice, which can easily erupt into violence and, sooner or later, into the tragedy of war.

Good political action, on the other hand, by promoting the fair distribution of resources, can provide an effective service for harmony and peace—both at the social and international levels."
