Vatican City (Vatican), June 3 (LaPresse) – The body found in a mass grave near Raqqa could belong to Father Paolo Dall'Oglio, the Jesuit priest who disappeared on July 29, 2013, in northern Syria. The man was wearing religious clothing.
The news of the possible discovery, reported today by the bishop of Qamishli in the north of the country, was confirmed by the Apostolic Nuncio in Damascus, Cardinal Mario Zenari.
"I was informed last night," said the Holy See’s ambassador. "The details about the location of the discovery and the identification of Father Paolo are not yet clear. We have contacted the Jesuits present in the area, but we have not yet been able to obtain confirmation."
