Rome, June 3 (LaPresse) – "There have often been fake news over the years. Several times people thought they had found Paolo’s body, but that was not the case. I take this opportunity to say that the circulating news says he was dressed in religious garments. Paolo was not wearing religious clothes; he was in civilian clothes and had no religious symbols. My brother Paolo is an important figure, and around his fate there are maneuvers that also involve international aspects. I have been able to review the file, we opposed its closure, I have spoken with the magistrate, and regardless of these relations, this news is not true. Based on the confirmations I have received, it is fake news."
This was stated to Rainews24 by Francesca Dall’Oglio, sister of Father Paolo Dall’Oglio, about the alleged discovery of her brother’s body in a mass grave in Raqqa, Syria.
"I learned about the news on the evening of Friday the 30th," she said. "Afterwards, I tried to verify it with those close to me who have been helping me these years. My contact managed to speak on the phone with the person who posted the news online, who said he spoke with a sheikh, the brother of another ex-ISIS sheikh held in a Qamishli prison, who told his brother that Paolo had been buried in Raqqa, but not in a mass grave."
