Pope Leo XIV: "Wounded Church in a wounded humanity, be credible to rebuild"

Vatican City (Vatican), May 31 (LaPresse) – “It is necessary to be credible” to rebuild “the credibility of a wounded Church, sent to a wounded humanity, within a wounded creation.” This is what Pope Leo XIV said during the homily at the Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica, where new priests will be ordained. “It is not important to be perfect,” the Pope continued, then added: “‘The love of Christ indeed possesses us,’ dear brothers and sisters. It is a possession that frees us and enables us not to possess anyone. To free, not to possess. We belong to God: there is no greater wealth to appreciate and to share. It is the only wealth that, when shared, multiplies. Together, we want to carry it into the world that God loved so much that He gave His only Son.”
