Florence, May 31 (LaPresse) – A young girl and her grandmother were seriously injured after being attacked by three pit bulls. The incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. in Agliana (Pistoia), in the San Michele district, on Via Panaro. The attack reportedly took place in the courtyard of the girl’s uncle’s house, and the dogs are believed to belong to him. Emergency medical services, along with the Carabinieri and municipal police, responded to the scene and launched an investigation. The girl was taken to the Meyer Pediatric Hospital in Florence in critical condition with a leg injury. The grandmother, who is believed to have intervened to protect her granddaughter, sustained multiple bites and was airlifted by the Pegaso helicopter to the hospital in Pistoia.
