Bolzano, May 31 (LaPresse) – Fabio Trevisan, the 28-year-old climber who had been missing since yesterday on the Gran Zebrù in the Ortles group, was found dead this morning. The young man, originally from Laives, was caught in an avalanche along the Minnigerode couloir. He was with a friend, who remained unharmed and raised the alarm yesterday around 11:40 am; the friend was recovered without complications. Rescue operations were already very difficult yesterday due to the avalanche risk in the area. Rescuers, including alpine rescue and the finance police, checked the area with helicopters before suspending operations late in the evening and resuming this morning, when the body of the 28-year-old was located. The two knew the area well and had already climbed that couloir.
