Vatican City (Vatican), May 8 (LaPresse) – At 6:07 PM on May 8, 2025, white smoke rising from the Sistine Chapel signaled the election of the 267th Pope of the Catholic Church. A loud round of applause erupted from the faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square. The smoke was accompanied by the ringing of the bells.
