Vatican City (Vatican), 22 April (LaPresse) – According to a reconstruction made by the Vatican media, Pope Francis reportedly felt the first signs of an illness at 5.30am on Monday morning and there was ‘prompt intervention by those who were watching over him’. More than an hour later, Bergoglio is said to have waved to his nurse and personal assistant, Massimiliano Strappetti, lying on the bed in his flat on the second floor of Casa Santa Marta, the Pontiff would then have slipped into a coma. According to the reconstruction, he would not have suffered and everything would have happened quickly, says those who were beside him in those last moments.
