Rome, 21 April (LaPresse) – ‘We have already established a no-fly zone. The date of the funeral has not yet been officially announced, so we will meet every day at 6 p.m. until the end of the event to assess the situation and manage events safely. There will be large numbers to manage, also due to the coincidence with the Jubilee for Adolescents, which is expected to attract well over 100,000 young people.’ These were the words of the Prefect of Rome, Lamberto Giannini, at the end of the Committee for Order and Safety meeting held this evening at the Prefecture in Rome. Prefect Giannini added: ‘At the moment, we do not have an estimate of the number of faithful who will arrive for the Pope's funeral. As there have been tensions, I would like to call on everyone to ensure that everything goes as it should on 25 April, which is an important day for our country. At this time, there is also a need for a celebration that does not lead to conflict. An important security plan is already in place for the Jubilee and will be further strengthened. Once we know the exact times and the estimated number of people who will attend, we will be able to arrange the services,’ concluded Prefect Giannini.
