Florence, 14 Apr. (LaPresse) – As part of the investigation into the collapse at the Esselunga construction site in Via Mariti, Florence, on 16 February last year, which caused the death of 5 workers, the judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Florence, Antonella Zatini, at the request of the Florentine prosecutor's office, considering that there is a risk of the crimes being repeated, has placed Alfonso D'Eugenio, the legal representative of ‘Rdb Ita’, the company that made the beam that collapsed, under house arrest, while engineers Carlo Melchiorre, designer of ‘Rdb Ita’, and Marco Passaleva, works manager on the construction site, for nine months and six months respectively. The precautionary measures were notified by the men of the Florence mobile squad. For all three suspects, the alleged offences are manslaughter and negligent injury, for Melchiorre also the hypothesis of collapse in competition.
