Rome, April 12 (LaPresse) – The Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, along with the Deputy Mayor of the City of Naples, Laura Lieto, the Mayor of Bacoli, Josi della Ragione, the Mayor of Monte di Procida, Salvatore Scotto di Santolo, and the Chief of Staff of the Mayor of Pozzuoli, Elio Buono, met on Saturday afternoon at the Prefecture with representatives of citizens from the Phlegraean Fields area to address issues related to the new phase affecting the caldera after the 4.6 magnitude earthquake on March 13. This led to the declaration of a state of mobilization by the National Civil Protection Service, proposed by the President of the Campania region, Vincenzo De Luca, and immediately signed by the Minister for Civil Protection and Maritime Policies, Nello Musumeci. This meeting followed a previous one with Ministers Salvini and Piantedosi. During the meeting, citizens expressed concerns about the timeline for returning to their homes, even though seismic checks are ongoing for both public and private properties. Specifically, families who have had to leave their homes and are currently being hosted in hotels requested an extension of their accommodation to allow them more time to find independent housing. The Prefect assured the citizens of the government’s constant attention to the matter and guaranteed the commitment of all institutions to address this delicate issue that deeply affects the lives of the residents in the area.
