Rome, 12 Apr. (LaPresse) – Giovanni Castellucci, former CEO of Aspi, has turned himself in after the Court of Cassation confirmed his six-year sentence for the Avellino bus massacre, which took place in July 2013, killing 40 passengers on board when the coach crashed off the Acqualonga viaduct in the municipality of Monteforte Irpino on the A16 Naples-Canosa motorway. Castellucci's legal sources confirm this to LaPresse. The judges of the fourth criminal division of the Supreme Court have annulled without postponement the contested sentence against two defendants, Gennaro Lametta, owner of the bus, and Antonietta Ceriola, a former employee of the Naples Civil Motorisation Department. The 9-year sentence against Lametta and the 4-year sentence against Ceriola have been confirmed, as have the sentences against the other executives and employees of the accused company.
