Vatican City (Vatican), 3 Apr. – ‘The Spirit can give true peace to the human heart, and this is the condition for overcoming conflicts in families, in society, in relations between nations. Therefore, I urge you to be witnesses and artisans of peace and unity; to always seek communion, starting from your groups and communities. May attachment to leaders never become a cause of conflict. Have a taste for collaboration, especially with parish communities, and the Lord will bless you with many fruits.’ This is what Pope Francis said in a message sent to the participants of the Jubilee pilgrimage of the International Service for Catholic Charismatic Renewal (Charis). ‘You intend not only to ‘concentrate’ on the Church,’ the Pope wrote, ’but at the same time to open yourselves to its universal horizons, taking up the Pope's intentions, especially that for peace and reconciliation. The Holy Spirit, a gift of the Risen Lord, creates communion, harmony, fraternity. And this is the Church: a new reconciled humanity.’
