Milan, April 3 (LaPresse) – The Juvenile Court of Brescia has sentenced Marco Toffaloni to 30 years in prison as one of the material perpetrators of the Piazza della Loggia bombing on May 28, 1974. This was announced by lawyer Federico Sinicato, civil party lawyer for Cgil and the Chamber of Labor of Brescia. The court accepted the request for a sentence made by prosecutor Caty Bressanelli at the conclusion of the trial against the then-17-year-old, affiliated with the far-right group Ordine Nuovo led by Carlo Maria Maggi and now a Swiss citizen. Swiss authorities have already stated during the trial that they will not extradite him to Italy. Toffaloni was found to be one of the individuals responsible for the massacre, which resulted in 9 deaths and 102 injuries due to a bomb placed in a trash can during a demonstration organized by the trade unions and the anti-fascist committee. A trial is currently underway in the Brescia Court of Assizes, presided over by Judge Roberto Spanò, for Toffaloni's co-defendant, the adult Roberto Zorzi. The next hearing is scheduled for April 7.
