Milan, 27 Mar. (LaPresse) – “For those who come to us, we don't offer suspended meals, but a lot of free publicity, that's right (for the moment)”. This is what chef Carlo Cracco wrote on Instagram, after the umpteenth raid yesterday on his restaurant in the Galleria in Milan by three activists from Ultima Generazione, who also accused the chef of stealing their mobile phone. ‘During the action, one of the activists was subjected to unacceptable behaviour: Carlo Cracco took her mobile phone, preventing her from recording what was happening and refusing to give it back. For this reason we have launched an email bombing to ask Cracco to return the phone’, writes Ultima Generazione in a statement. ‘They accuse us of staging demonstrations, but the real spectacle is of a system that allows the few to feast while many are unable to fill their shopping basket. Carlo Cracco is being ironic about the ‘suspended meal’? We are talking about a world suspended between inequality and climate collapse’, the activists add.
