Rome, March 19 (LaPresse) – Nine people, including seven Eni employees, have reportedly received notices of investigation for various reasons in connection with the explosion at the Calenzano depot on December 9 last year that caused five deaths. Eni Spa is also under investigation. Eni ‘takes note of the notices of guarantee announced and issued today by the Prato Public Prosecutor's Office in relation to the accident at the Calenzano depot. As we have learned, the notices concerned managers and operators of technical-operational areas of Eni's Refining Revolution and Transformation Division linked to the activities of the depot, representatives of the supplier company Sergen, as well as Eni SpA itself for liability under Law 231, and will allow investigative activities to continue also with the involvement of the persons concerned’. This is what is stated in a note. ‘Eni confirms, as it has done so far,’ the six-legged dog continues, ’its full and total cooperation with the judicial authorities, with the priority desire to contribute to identifying the causes and associated dynamics at the origin of the accident. Eni also confirms its commitment to compensating the relatives of the victims of the accident and, as promptly as possible allowed by the timing of the expert's report, the civil damages in the area, which are at an advanced stage of overall definition.’
