Schools in Pozzuoli are expected to reopen tomorrow, March 18, 2025, following safety inspections, Mayor Luigi Manzoni announced. An ordinance is being prepared to resume educational activities in all schools of every level within the municipality. However, classes will remain suspended at the Diano building on Via Solfatara (part of the Ic 1 Marconi Diano) to allow for the relocation of administrative offices and the principal’s office, as well as to review student entry and exit routes. Additionally, private schools that have not provided certification proving structural safety and the absence of hazardous conditions will also remain closed. The suspension of school activities was initially decided on March 13 following a 4.4-magnitude earthquake that struck the area the previous night. Today, secondary schools under the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan City of Naples, as well as San Giuseppe and De Santis schools, along with the cultural center at Palazzo Toledo, have reopened.
