Beach resorts: Liguria Regional Administrative Court rejects appeal, extension of concessions to 2027 not valid

Milan, 20 Feb. (LaPresse) – The Liguria Regional Administrative Court rejects the appeal of the beach resorts of Zoagli, in the province of Genoa, regarding the extension of beach concessions to 2027. The owner of a beach establishment in Zoagli had filed a complaint against the municipality for the cancellation of the council's decision regarding the reorganisation of state-owned and maritime concessions, expiring on 31 December 2023, thus establishing that the same concessions could be put out to tender, in accordance with the Bolkestein Directive. The owners of the establishment had invoked an ‘agreement between the Italian State and the European Commission, according to which the Administrations would have the obligation to extend the beach concessions until September 2027’. The Ligurian administrative judge, with the device filed yesterday, rejected the appeal of the Zoagli beach establishments.
