Milan, Feb. 4 (LaPresse) – The Aosta Local Health Authority (USL) has launched an investigation and reported to the Prosecutor's Office the case of Dr. Gianluca Fanelli, a radiologist who allegedly performed a CT scan on his cat at Parini Hospital after it fell from the seventh floor.
"In light of the evident violations that have emerged, the company has forwarded the case to the Disciplinary Commission, an independent body responsible for conducting the investigation and determining any potential sanctions," the USL stated in a press release.
The statement clarified that "any disciplinary measures will be determined and formalized through an official resolution, in order to ensure the proper use of public resources and compliance with current regulations, while maintaining full transparency in handling the case."
Following the report last Friday about the CT scan performed on the cat in the Radiology Department at Parini Hospital—headed by Fanelli himself—the USL "immediately requested a review and a report from the Director of Radiology and the Director of the relevant Department to verify the accuracy of the incident."
On Monday, the report confirmed that "a radiologist from the Radiology Department had indeed performed a CT scan on his own pet within the facility."
