Milan, Jan. 31 (LaPresse) – "This day marks a watershed moment; from now on, there will always be a ‘before’ and ‘after’ for the Terra dei Fuochi. No one can deny anymore what has been ignored for so many years."
These were the words of Don Maurizio Patriciello, parish priest of Parco Verde in Caivano, in an interview with Corriere della Sera regarding the ruling by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), which condemned Italy for failing to take measures to protect citizens in the so-called "Land of Fires."
The priest admitted to experiencing this moment "with satisfaction but without joy. I cannot be happy, none of us can, because there have been too many victims of the poisons in this land."
