Milan, 16 Jan (LaPresse) – New arrests have been made in the case of a robbery commissioned by a friar from the Sana Matia Occorrevole Sanctuary in Piedimonte Matese, relating to the period when he was carrying out his duties in the Basilica of St Anthony of Padua in Afragola, in the province of Naples. The carabinieri of the Afragola station, executed a pre-trial detention order issued by the gip of the Court of Naples, which ordered prison for one person and domicile for two others, all of whom were held responsible for aggravated robbery in conspiracy. After the arrest of six people – including two friars – last August, the investigation by the North Naples Public Prosecutor's Office continued to track down the other alleged perpetrators. The robbery was commissioned by Nicola Gildi, a friar who was on duty at the Convent of Santa Maria Occorrevole, to ‘retrieve’ mobile phone videos, photos and ‘compromising’ chats of a sexual nature concerning friars.
