Rome, Jan. 15 (LaPresse) – The judges of the first criminal section of the Court of Cassation upheld the life sentence for Gilberto Cavallini, who was indicted in the trial for the Bologna massacre, in which 85 people were killed and over 200 were injured. According to the charges, Cavallini provided shelter to Luigi Ciavardini, Francesca Mambro, and Valerio Fioravanti. To Fioravanti, according to the investigations, he also provided a document confirming a false identity. During the closing arguments, the deputy attorney general of the Court of Cassation, Antonio Balsamo, had asked the court to reject the appeal filed by Cavallini's defense.
