Milan, 22 Nov. (LaPresse/AP) – Cop30 has approved the Global Mutirão agreement, which provides for more funding to be given to countries most affected by climate change to help them adapt to the consequences of extreme weather events, but does not include an explicit detailed plan to phase out fossil fuels or strengthen inadequate emission reduction plans. The Brazilian presidency has stated that it will eventually draw up a roadmap for phasing out fossil fuels, in collaboration with Colombia, but it will not have the same force as a document approved at the UN conference.
