London (United Kingdom), Apr 7 (LaPresse) – The British government has decided to prevent rapper Ye, previously known as Kanye West, from entering the United Kingdom to perform at the Wireless Festival in London. Ye has been at the center of controversy after making antisemitic statements and expressing admiration for Adolf Hitler. The artist was scheduled to perform at the London festival in July, but organizers received pressure from sponsors and politicians to cancel his participation. "His permission to enter the United Kingdom is currently under review," said Tom Wells, spokesperson for Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Ye released a song titled 'Heil Hitler' and promoted a T-shirt featuring a swastika. He later apologized, attributing his actions to bipolar disorder. Festival organizers confirmed the ban and announced the cancellation of the entire event, which had been scheduled from July 10 to 12.
