Rome, 24 March (LaPresse) – Gino Paoli has died at the age of 91. “Last night, Gino passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family,” said the Paoli family in a statement in which they asked for the utmost privacy. Born in Monfalcone in 1934 and raised in Genoa, where he still lived today, he was a central figure of the so-called ‘Genoese school’. His songs inspired dreams and often sparked romance in generations of Italians: unforgettable hits such as ‘Sapore di sale’, ‘Il cielo in una stanza’, ‘La gatta’, ‘Che cosa c’è’, and ‘Senza fine’, to name but a few.
