Sanremo (Imperia), 25 February (LaPresse) – ‘I must express my gratitude for last night's excellent result, I am very pleased. Last year, with record viewing figures, I had this smile on my face. This year, I did not surpass myself, but I have the same smile and the same serenity, which is the most important thing.’ These were the words of Carlo Conti at a press conference. ‘I'm happy because it's still a very high result,’ added the presenter, ‘the Festival is doing well, as demonstrated by this affection and these huge numbers.’ Conti claimed: ‘They tell me it's the fourth best result since 1997. Amadeus and I are in the top four, so we are particularly proud of the work we have done over the years, together with Claudio Baglioni.’
