Milan, 20 February (LaPresse/AP) – Eric Dane, the famous actor known for his roles in “Grey's Anatomy” and “Euphoria”, has died at the age of 53. He suffered from ALS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. ‘He spent his last days surrounded by close friends, his devoted wife and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the centre of his world,’ read a statement from his family. ‘During his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for those facing the same struggle. We will miss him deeply and remember him fondly. Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he received,’ the statement continued. Dane rose to fame in the mid-2000s when he was cast as Dr Mark Sloan, aka McSteamy, in the ABC medical drama “Grey's Anatomy”, a role he played from 2006 to 2012 and reprised in 2021. He later played Cal Jacobs in the television series “Euphoria”.
